MOST PLACEABLE CANDIDATES (MPC)

MPC stands for Most Placeable Candidate. The MPC list is a way of cataloging your candidates based on their skillset. You create your own MPC list and can organize it however you feel will best benefit you. The purpose of the MPC list is to keep track of the really good candidates you come across.

As a recruiter, you will speak to hundreds of people a week. But, out of all the people you speak to, only a small fraction will be both interested in your opportunity and qualified. Be that as it may, you can still benefit from the majority of these conversations.

MPC QUALIFICATIONS

Any candidate that has a rare, in demand, or marketable skill can be qualified as “most placeable”, i.e. someone would pay a fee for them. Just because you speak to a candidate that is not qualified or interested in the opportunity at hand doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t be interested or qualified for something in the future.

Remember, there is a lid for every pot and a pot for every lid. If you are speaking to a candidate, that, for whatever reason you will not be submitting, don’t just end the call. Take an extra 60 seconds to determine if they could be a potential MPC. If the answer is yes, ask the candidate what their ideal position would be. Based on this information, update the candidate’s Bullhorn record and place them into an MPC list. The same candidate can be added to multiple lists. These lists allow you to keep track of your candidates. Too often the perfect candidate misses an opportunity because someone forgot about them. With the MPC list, when a new job order comes out, you will be able to see what lists match the job and circle back around with those candidates. As your MPC lists grow so will your submittal numbers and connect ratios.
