THE RESUME

Reviewing the resumes of potential candidates, knowing what to look for and what corrections to make is an important part of your job. It is something that you will do every day of your career as a Recruiter. However, reviewing a resume involves much more than just reading. A resume is an individual’s professional story and the most important question you can ask when reading it is, does this story make sense?

Reviewing a resume can be broken into many parts, but let’s start with two main stages:

  • Initial Screening – quickly scanning a resume to determine if a potential candidate possesses the skills that match the opportunity
  • Reading the resume – an in-depth review to scan for grammatical or formatting errors. We will work with the candidate to update the resume prior to submitting them for consideration on a job opportunity.
