CANDIDATE CONTROL

Candidate control is a term you will hear over and over. Proper control of the candidates you represent is vital to a smooth and successful recruiting process, post ISGF interview. Candidate control is having a good relationship with your candidate, having the candidate’s trust and buy in that you always have their best interests in mind, it’s the ability to get them on the phone when you need then and being confident that they will show up to scheduled client interviews.

Proper candidate control stems from a proper ISGF interview. If you have built good rapport with your candidate and have set clear expectations as to what your need from, controlling the process comes naturally.

The best way to ensure proper candidate control is to:

  • Conduct a thorough ISGF interview
  • Set proper expectations
  • Follow through with what you say
  • Stay in constant contact
  • Add as much value as you can

If a candidate is in the interview process with a client and you feel that you have lost candidate control notify the Account Manager and your Division Director immediately. The worst thing you can do if this happens is to not be proactive in rectifying the situation as best as possible.
