OFFERS & RESIGNATIONS

Congratulations! Your candidate has received an over letter. You are about to cross the finish line! As excited as you may be during this time, make sure you keep your composure long enough to finish the remaining steps.

NEXT STEPS

  • Have your candidate accept the written offer and send you a copy.
  • Assist your candidate in composing a written letter of resignation and prepare them to speak with their supervisor.
  • Address the possibility of a counter-offer, educate them on the facts, and identify how your candidate will respond.
  • Get confirmation when your candidate resigns for their job and turns in their letter of resignation.

THE WRITTEN OFFER

If a verbal offer is extended, let your candidate know and get them to accept the offer but instruct them not to resign until an official written offer has been extended. Allowing your candidate to resign before the written offer was collected would subject them to the unnecessary risk of a verbal offer being withdrew after they have already quit their job.

LETTER OF RESIGNATION

Make sure you coach you candidate on how to write a proper resignation letter. Regardless of the reason your candidate decided to leave their current employer, remember that the resignation should never be used as an outlet to voice any frustrations.

A resignation letter should be kept as professional and direct as possible with your candidate keeping in mind that they are moving on to better things.

BOOKING THE PLACEMENT

You got an offer and your candidate accepted, not it’s time to make the placement official! To properly book a placement you must complete two steps. The first step is to log the placement in Bullhorn, then, submit an Add-Change Form in Leo.
