THE VICTIM MENTALITY

Always be cautious of some who constantly seems to be the victim of their work environment. It should always raise a red flag to hear a candidate say that every poor outcome of a job was someone else’s fault. This can show that the candidate may not work well with others and most likely has difficulty accepting responsibility.

Another aspect of the victim mentality could potentially include someone who has worked for huge companies and says they left because they were not learning anything, or they were “capped out”. While in some cases this can be true, it can also identify a candidate who lacks ambition and initiative.
